Ben is the MD of Ursus Productions, a film-maker, producer, director and creator.
Ben started Ursus Productions in 2016 with the mission to work with amazing people, companies and brands to create great and memorable content that got people talking. Ben has a passion for engaging story telling and believes that all content must be thought provoking and visually stunning, leaving an impact on the audience.
With a background in Natural History and a degree in Zoology, Ben’s career started at the BBC Natural History Unit. However from working through the industry he has built an enviable skill set and now works across multiple genres with a diverse array of clients.
Whilst Ursus will always have the expertise to support wildlife projects, Ben works with a broader client base and creates content for everyone from commercial sports clients through to the Home Office and university institutions.
Ben specialises in delivering content which can sit across multiple platforms. He loves the challenge of producing suites of formats to reach a client’s audience, regardless of where they access their content. This may be a series of wildlife based instagram stories, a TV Christmas advert or a piece for YouTube about rugby being played in the Alps.
Ursus has recently moved back into TV where it all started for Ben. Our first commission, in a co-production with Pat Younge at Cardiff Productions, is Britain’s Beautiful Rivers with Richard Hammond; a 4 part series for More4 (Ch4) where Richard journeys down 4 of the UK’s most stunning waterways from source to mouth. (TX - May 2022)
Ben is supported by a small crew of talented film makers, researchers, producers, editors, sound and camera specialists across the world. The team have worked together for many years and travelled all over the world creating films.
Ben recently moved to Somerset with his wife and two young kids.
