Ursus Productions Ltd (“Ursus”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, stored, and protected by Ursus Productions Ltd and its special purpose vehicle, Arctos Productions, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and guidance issued by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

2. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to personal data processed:
By Ursus Productions Ltd as the parent production company
By Arctos Productions in connection with specific productions, commissions, pilots, or development activity
In relation to contributors, clients, suppliers, freelancers, crew, partners, and website visitors
Where a production is undertaken through Arctos Productions, personal data may be processed by Arctos Productions under the governance, systems, and policies of Ursus Productions Ltd.
3. Journalistic exemption
Ursus Productions Ltd and Arctos Productions produce journalistic, factual, and documentary content in the public interest.
Where personal data is processed for the purposes of journalism, and where compliance with certain provisions of UK GDPR would be incompatible with journalistic objectives, we rely on the journalistic exemption set out in Schedule 2, Part 5 of the Data Protection Act 2018.

Contractual and consent documentation, including contributor releases and location agreements

Filmed material may include video and audio recordings in which individuals are identifiable.

Personal data is retained in line with editorial, legal, contractual, and archival requirements.
Production paperwork, contracts, and consent records are retained for the duration of the production and for a reasonable period thereafter
Filmed material, rushes, transcripts, and editorial notes may be retained indefinitely as part of programme archives, particularly where required for journalistic integrity, compliance, or future re-use
Data is reviewed periodically and securely deleted where no longer required
11. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, individuals have rights including:
Access to their personal data
Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
Erasure or restriction of processing, subject to journalistic, legal, and contractual limitations
Objection to processing in certain circumstances
